On Friday, Marvel Studios shared the teaser trailer and poster for "Captain America: Brave New World," featuring Anthony Mackie stepping into his role as Captain America. The Falcon, portrayed by Mackie in previous MCU films, officially assumed the mantle of Captain America in the 2021 finale of "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier" on Disney+.
In this new chapter, after a meeting with the newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Sam is thrust into the heart of an international crisis. He must unravel a sinister global conspiracy before the true villain brings the entire world to the brink.
"Captain America: Brave New World" stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, with Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford. The film is directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, with Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serving as executive producers.

Anthony Mackie is adjusting to a new world order. The actor stars as Sam Wilson in "Captain America: Brave New World," a Marvel Studios film described as a grounded political thriller reminiscent of the 2014 feature "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
Harrison Ford makes his Marvel debut as General Ross, a role previously played in the MCU by the late William Hurt. Ross, now elected president, wants to bring Captain America aboard in an official military capacity. Wilson works to uncover a nefarious global plot, and eagle-eyed fans will catch a brief glimpse of Ford as the Red Hulk, going head-to-head with Cap.
Mackie has played Sam Wilson since "Winter Soldier," where he was introduced as the hero The Falcon, an ally of Chris Evans’ Captain America.
Mackie went on to appear in "Captain America: Civil War" (2016) and multiple Avengers films before starring in the Disney+ series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," which chronicled Sam’s journey to becoming Captain America. The new feature, set for a February 2025 release, is directed by Julius Onah, known for "The Cloverfield Paradox," and has a script from "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" creator Malcom Spellman and Dalan Musson, with contributions from "Moon Knight" scribe Matthew Orton, who is adding a new character played by Giancarlo Esposito.
Fellow MCU newcomer ShiraHaas is also part of the cast. Danny Ramirez reprises his role as Joaquin Torres from "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," a character who becomes The Falcon in the comics. Liv Tyler and Tim Blake Nelson, last seen in 2008’s "Incredible Hulk," also return to the Marvel fold.
The trailer comes weeks ahead of Marvel Studios’ next movie, "Deadpool & Wolverine," and just before San Diego Comic-Con, where a look at its upcoming slate is expected. Red Hulk Smashes In First "Captain America: Brave New World" Trailer.
